Deputies for a day

Terry Markin snaps a photo as his daughter Brooke Markin, 17, and son Austin, 5, pose as a Logan County Sheriff’s deputy and a K-9 unit at a new photo area outside the sheriff’s fair office. The new display, which was painted by Indian Lake area artist Holley Milroy, was unloaded and placed on the fairgrounds Thursday. It was paid for using unrestricted special deputy funds that are generated through special details like the fair or by donations, Sheriff Andrew Smith said. (EXAMINER PHOTO | REUBEN MEES)
