The student body, staff and community members took part in West Liberty Salem National Honor Society’s blood drive Wednesday, with the WL-S Red Cross Club supporting the blood drive by donating drinks for all blood donors.
Overall, 65 individuals went through the registration and screening process and 56 units were donated. From the 56 pints that were donated, 29 were from first time donors.
In other NHS news, members recently spent four days assisting the WL-S elementary with kindergarten screening. They also were presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from Green Hills for 54 hours of service by NHS members.
NHS hosts a Powder Puff game May 24 to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis research.
