Calvary Christian School eighth- and ninth-graders recently attended a Christian leadership conference at Cedarville University. Speakers and breakout time encouraged students to use their God-given talents to become leaders within their communities. The school’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter also attended a three-day leadership conference at Camp Cotubic. Students participated in seminars emphasizing how to influence others for Christ and the importance of Biblical team work. In other CCS news, sixth-grade science students under the direction of Rebekah Dodson recently went to YMCA Camp Willson for a science day, where they participated in activities to learn more about astronomy, mammals, aquatic organisms, reptiles and amphibians. High school students Cheryl Shank’s French class also took a field trip to La Chatelaine, a French café in Dublin. Students had the opportunity to order in French and tried new foods such as le croque monsieur and ‘vol-au-vent. |
