A welcoming hand

Stand-For-Peace-Day 1102

Bellefontaine High School students receive a welcoming applause and “high fives” from community volunteers this morning during Stand For Peace day at the school gymnasium. A total of approximately 300 students and about 40 adults volunteered to participate in this highenergy program that has goals of encouraging participants to embrace diversity, increasing personal power and self-esteem, and shifting negative peer pressure to positive peer support. It also works to eliminate the acceptability of bullying, violence and all forms of oppression. This project is planned by the school in collaboration with the Violence Free Coalition of Warren County and funded in part by the Logan County Drug Free Youth Coalition.
