CARROLLTON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say two northeast Ohio men were hurt when they drove a car onto the property of a county airport and sped to the end of the runway before crashing into a ravine.
Sheriff Dale Williams tells WTOV-TV (http://bit.ly/Tk4ix5 ) alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash Saturday at the Carroll County airport. He says the driver and the passenger were both 31-year-old men from nearby Carrollton.
Williams says the driver suffered severe head trauma and a fractured back, and his passenger had less severe injuries. They were pulled from the vehicle and taken to local hospitals.
The sheriff says charges are pending.
