Burglars target homes

Melissa D. Ward, 120 S. Troy Road, reported Monday she arrived home around 11:45 p.m. and found someone forced open a rear door to the residence. A gun cabinet, which was bolted to the floor, was knocked over damaging the bottom of the cabinet. Three guns — two .25-caliber handguns and a 12-gauge shotgun — were reported stolen.

• John Predmore, 113 Cantwell Ave., reported he returned to his residence Monday morning to find a basement door to the outside was forced open. About 30 feet of old electrical wire was stolen.

Driver cited after vehicle drives up guide wire

Dennis L. Kramer, 67, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to control after an incident about 4:15 p.m. Friday on State Route 540 near Township Road 126.He reportedly was operating an eastbound sport utility vehicle when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a guide wire, and then his vehicle drove up the wire.
