Calvin D. Dearwester Jr., 53, of 218 Oakland Square, Bellefontaine, was charged with obstructing official business and lodged in the Logan County Jail following a traffic stop Monday afternoon.

I-75 reopened after chemical spill

SIDNEY, Ohio (AP) — Interstate 75 has opened in both directions at the State Route 47 exit here following a chemical leak Tuesday morning from a tanker truck which also resulted in evacuation of homes.

UPDATE: Driver flown after U.S. 68 crash

Terry G. Davis, 58, of Huntsville, was transported by CareFlight helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton for incapacitating injuries following a crash involving tractor-trailer and a van about 5:20 p.m. Monday. Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report that Mr. Davis was operating a westbound van on County Road 57 at U.S. Route 68. He reportedly drove into the intersection and collided with a northbound semi operated by Philip G. Stanway, 67, of Amherstburg, Ontario. The semi driver did not report any injuries. Deputies were assisted by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS and troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Traffic on U.S. 68 was delayed for a time. Damage was heavy to both vehicles. The crash remains under investigation, and no citations have yet been issued (EXAMINER PHOTO | T.J. HUBBARD)
