Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a one-vehicle crash that resulted in a 16-year-old Bellefontaine boy being transported by a Tri-Valley squad to Mary Rutan Hospital.

The teen reportedly was operating an eastbound car on C.R. 10 about 3 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected and then continued across the left side of the road where he struck and broke off the bottom portion of a utility pole located in the front lawn of a residence. The vehicle came to rest against two poles in a neighboring yard.

Damage to the vehicle was heavy.

MARYSVILLE — Marysville police are asking residents to watch their bank statements after seven cases of credit card “skimming” were reported since the beginning of the year.

The owner/operator of a Bellefontaine convenience store where drug-related items and almost $200,000 were seized last year pleaded guilty recently in Logan County Common Pleas Court to a misdemeanor charge.

Nearly 200 area friends of beef gathered Wednesday for the annual Logan County Cattle Association Banquet at Indian Lake Middle School, where the Bellefontaine Examiner was honored with the 2013 Friend of Beef award.
