UNION COUNTY — A Marysville man with a lengthy criminal record was arrested on multiple charges Tuesday following a traffic stop in Union County.

Timothy P. Smith, 28, was stopped for a speeding violation about 12:30 p.m. on State Route 4 near Macklin Road, troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report.

Troopers detected the presence of alcohol and/or drugs during the stop. Mr. Smith reportedly refused a breathalyzer test.

The driver also was charged with driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, driving under OVI suspension, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container, and a seat belt violation. He is also wanted on a warrant out of Delaware County.
