Residents report suspected ID theft

Joshua Lee Huffman, 712 N. Main St., told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department today a named suspect used his personal information to establish a line of credit used to buy $5,000 in mechanic’s tools. The fraud was discovered as Mr. Huffman was in the process of buying a home.

• Mia Brown, 1224 S. Main St., reported Thursday her mailed W-2 form was damaged and possibly stolen. She said the form was ripped in a way that included the mailing address. She was advised to check her credit report and a credit bureau. She also was advised to put a freeze on her credit accounts if she believes her identity has been stolen.
