Nicholas Beair, 6, of Russells Point, tests out a bicycle with Bellefontaine Police Officer Jason Lapp at Wal-Mart on Saturday morning during the annual Shop with a Cop program. Seven children from throughout Logan County were given $250 each to go shopping with deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department and troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The event was made possible by funds from the local Fraternal Order of Police, the sheriff’s auxiliary and donations from the families of Charlie Godwin and Bobby Summers.
