CORS sequestration cuts restored

PIQUA — The Council on Rural Services reports that the Omnibus funding bill passed by Congress in January will help to restore the previous 5.27 percent funding cuts that affected Head Start programs nationwide during the federal sequestration last year.

Summonses issued for child endangering

Cecil R. Potter, 28, and Danielle A. Wages, 29, of 5699 E. State Route 274, Rushsylvania, each was issued a summons for child endangering Tuesday after deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office observed “deplorable” conditions at their residence.

Man lodged for attacking brother

Bruce A. Mathews, 48, of 1032 Heritage Court, was arrested around 8 p.m. Monday for felony domestic violence after he fought with his brother, Greg, the leaseholder of the apartment, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department reported.
