The West Liberty-Salem school board passed its permanent 2012 appropriations Tuesday and accepted a sizable donation on behalf of its FFA from an agriculture company during an otherwise routine regular meeting.
The board reduced its spending plan by $771,954.35 for fiscal year 2013. Appropriations total $13.3 million, about $11.5 of which was allocated to the General Fund.
As far as the grant, the WL-Salem FFA and adviser Tim Lamb are responsible for meeting all of the requirements and guidelines associated with the $10,000 grant from the Monsanto Fund, the philanthropic arm of the Monsanto Company — an organization which focuses on sustainable agriculture.
