Brandon Clary, 28, of 1600 S. Detroit St., Apt. 61, Bellefontaine, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, failure to control and driving under suspension following a crash about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch in the 2300 block of County Road 105 near Belle Center.
Mr. Clary reportedly had been driving a westbound vehicle when he drove off the left side of the roadway through a bean field and came to rest in a ditch.
Deputies located the driver standing outside of his vehicle. They noted that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy. Field sobriety tests were administered, and he was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he registered a .176 blood alcohol content.
• Eric C. Hastings, 28, of Kenton, was charged with OVI and received citations for a marked lanes, parking within an intersection and an open container violation about 1:35 a.m. Monday.
He was operating a southbound vehicle on U.S. Route 68 when a deputy observed that he crossed the white line several times and also nearly came to a complete stop near County Road 37.
During a traffic stop, a strong odor of alcohol was detected coming from the vehicle and an open container of beer was found in the center console.
He refused to take field sobriety tests and a BAC test. He was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he reportedly beat his head against a concrete wall and had to be placed in a holding cell.
