MARYSVILLE — Fourteen people have been indicted on numerous drug charges following an extended investigation by the Union County Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement Task Force.
The individuals arrested were found to be significant players in the Union County drug scene, according to a press release issued Friday by Union County law enforcement.
The task force investigated multiple types of drug offenses that occurred throughout Union County including Marysville and the villages of Plain City and Richwood.
Warrants were served for felony charges that include traffickin in drugs — heroin — as well as prescription medications and bath salts. Additional charges including theft, receiving stolen property, deception to obtain, corrupting another with and possession of drugs were also filed.
The defendants are accused of selling synthetic marijuana, known as “spice,” to juveniles and deceiving physicians to obtain prescription medication that could either be sold or traded. They also allegedly stole property and then sold it to purchase drugs.
The task force also investigated the overdose of a 14-year-old connected to several other drug offenses.
