The three-day DeGraff Country Fair with the village theme, “Welcome the new and embrace the old,” begins Thursday, Sept. 6, with an opening ceremony at 4:45 p.m. and rides starting at 5 p.m.
Friday features a sock hop hosted by J&S at 5 p.m. The Wiffle Ball tourney continues, pageant winners are introduced at 6:30 p.m., with bingo and a concert by Outrider starting at 7 p.m.
Miami Grange begins Saturday’s activities with a pancake and sausage breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by a 5K run/walk starting at 8 a.m., followed by a pet and bike parade at 10:30 a.m. Direct race/walk questions to Randy McCully at 585-4127.
Dani Lump takes the entertainment stage for a concert at noon, followed by vocalist Molly McIntire at 1 p.m. A cornhole tournament sponsored by the Riverside Pirates softball team begins at 1 p.m., a baked goods and craft auction is at 2 p.m. and rides open at 3 p.m. The Riverside Pee Wee Pep Rally begins at 3:15 p.m., followed by the main parade at 4 p.m., a talent show at 5:15 p.m., bingo at 7 and 9 p.m. and a performance by Fantastic Johnneys at 7 p.m.
Noted author and former DeGraff resident, Rick Niece, is grand marshal for the annual parade at 4 p.m. Saturday, with lineup beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Riverside School east parking lot. The parade travels from the school to Boggs Street, to Hayes Street and Koke Street, then back to the school.
New to the fair is the Miracle Amusements ride company, featuring many new rides, along with new games and food vendors. The Humane Society Serving Logan County hosts a pet adoption booth from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
