Indian Lake HarborFest at the Russells Point Harbor kicks off Saturday, Aug. 2, with the Wacky Boat Races at noon, followed by a community parade at 1:30 p.m.
Bingo with Cobb is from 2 to 5 p.m., mass marriage vow renewal at 5 p.m. at the bridge, live entertainment under the big tent with Tim Sutton from 4 to 7 p.m., a cruise in from 4 to 8 p.m. and Parrott Head Party with Hairy Berry Jam from 7 to 11 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 3, festivities begin with a kiddie and adult tractor pull at 1 p.m., followed by a donut hole eating contest at 2:30 p.m., golf cart races at 3 p.m. and evening church services.
Residents are reminded that a permit is required to operate a golf cart within the corporation limits of the Village of Russells Point. Such permits, however, will not be issued until the ordinance effective date, Aug. 6.
Participants in the HarborFest golf cart races are encouraged to make arrangements to transport any golf carts to the event. Contact Mayor Robin Reames with any questions or feedback at 843-2245 extension 8.
Vendor and craft show to benefit local schools
A vendor and craft show at Union Station from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 2 will benefit surrounding area schools. Each person who attends is asked to take school supplies and designate which school is to benefit.
For each piece donated, a raffle ticket is given away for a chance to win a door prize.
Fire department hosts pork chop dinner
The Rushcreek Township Fire Department hosts a pork chop dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the firehouse.
The dinner includes a baked potato, corn on the cob, roll and drink. Desserts will be provided by the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church.
