West Liberty Village Council accepted a check in excess of $1,000 from Logan County Solid Waste District on Monday during a regular meeting.
Commissioner John Bayliss, on behalf of the solid waste district, presented the $1,027.50 check to council for its share of recycling participation in 2013.
This marks the fourth year the solid waste district will have distributed recycling incentive checks to host communities or organizations providing space for any of the county’s 16 full-time recycling centers.
The recycling centers combine to average about 400 tons per month, the commissioner said. Nearly 2,000 tons of recyclable materials are collected each year.
