The United Way of Logan County Youth Allocation Committee recently presented its 2014 allocation recommendation for approval to the adult Admission and Allocation Committee and members of the United Way of Logan County Executive Committee.

The committee — 20 juniors and senior students from Logan County schools — meets throughout the school year to learn about United Way and the Logan County community.

The meetings were hosted by various entities and organizations throughout the county including Our Daily Bread at Lutheran Community Services, Discovery Riders, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Bellefontaine City and Mary Rutan Hospital.

The students developed criteria based on community needs and concerns and requested local agencies to apply for funding for programs to serve families with school-aged children.
