Logan County Children’s Services conducted investigations and assessments involving 55 children in March, according to information provided to the agency’s board of directors at a recent regular meeting.
Currently, children’s services has 22 children in foster care, executive director Melanie Engle reported.
Chippewa and Western Neighborhood Outreach Centers combined to serve 172 last month. Consolidated Care, Inc. conducted an anti-alcohol/drug/tobacco program at both centers.
The annual KidFest event, hosted by Logan County Children’s Services is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Bellefontaine High School.
A date has not yet been set for the opening of the Child Advocacy Center, Mrs. Engle said. Facilities to host the local intervention and crisis center for suspected child victims of sexual abuse aren’t yet complete. Administrators are still working out getting the proper license for their pediatric sexual abuse nurse examiner.
The next regular children’s services board meeting is May 8.
