Two men, one of whom rented a room at Comfort Inn, 260 Northview Drive, were arrested Thursday after they drove from the motel rather than use the room to sleep off their intoxication.
Alexander C. Young, 21, of 289 Miami Road, Rushsylvania, was charged operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for no license plate light while Christopher W. Burns, 22, of 10965 County Road 117, Belle Center, charged with public intoxication.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were notified by hotel staff about two intoxicated men and as they were arriving a car drove out of the parking lot. It did not have a rear license plate light and the motorist was stopped in the 1700 block of north U.S. Route 68.
Mr. Young submitted to a breath test which came back nearly three times over the limit.
