A DeGraff area woman remains in critical condition in a Dayton hospital today following a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon on County Road 35 at Township Road 75 north of Quincy.

Rebecca Delong, 28, was operating a northbound 2000 Yamaha motorcycle on a hilly portion of C.R. 35 about 2:30 p.m. when a westbound Ford F-150 truck stopped on T.R. 75 turned north onto C.R. 35, according to troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Ms. Delong took evasive action, traveled off the left side of the road and was ejected.

The vehicles did not make contact.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained serious head injuries and was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.

The truck’s driver, Orville Tussing, 69, also of the DeGraff area, made a complete stop at the intersection and claims he didn't see the motorcycle before turning, troopers said. He was not injured.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected as a factor.

Charges are pending investigation by the patrol’s crash reconstruction unit.

Quincy Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
