Grand jury charges 17

A Huntsville woman accused of stealing from her elderly mother was among 17 people charged in indictments handed up Tuesday by a Logan County grand jury.

Joyce Kuhn, 67, of 6443 Findlay St., Huntsville, has been charged with theft, a third-degree felony.

Her sister, Betty Berry, told deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office she shared power of attorney with the defendant over their mother’s finances.

Since 2012, the accused has wiped out the mother’s $20,000 bank account, taken a loan against her life insurance and failed to pay any bills, all of which were put in the 87-year-old mother’s name.

The case was referred to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office which presented to the grand jury.
