Drunk man arrested outside restaurant



David C. Bradley, 35, of Columbus, was arrested around 4:25 a.m. Sunday at McDonald’s, 1127 N. Main St., for public intoxication and open container of alcohol. He had been inside for an hour bothering customers, according to reports.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department began talking with him and he became defensive and belligerent. He was taken into custody outside when he tried to walk off and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

• Alec Berry, 21, of 420 E. Columbus Ave., was charged with public intoxication after an officer observed him pass out over a guardrail at 1:10 a.m. Saturday at Speedway, 329 S. Main St. He was taken into custody and lodged in jail.

Man stopped with loaded shopping cart



Nicholas R. George, 21, of 11165 State Route 366, Lakeview, was charged Friday with theft. He attempted to push a cart loaded with furnishing and household items from Wal-Mart, 2281 S. Main St., around 3:20 p.m. Store staff also believes he took two television sets on Wednesday.

He was lodged in jail.

Man faces domestic charge



Austin Hall, 20, of 817 Railroad Ave., was charged with domestic violence 11:50 a.m. Thursday after he allegedly grabbed his wife, Tiffany, shoved her and threatened to burn down the residence.

He was lodged in jail.

Crashes set off Friday traffic snarl

No driver was cited in a series of crashes Friday at Sandusky Avenue and Hayes Street

Jessica A. Roth, 25, of Bellefontaine was westbound on Sandusky Avenue and her car slid sideways on the snow- and ice-covered roadway as she approached Hayes Street around 4 p.m. Friday. Denise A. Baker, 33, of Sidney, was behind and could not stop her car from striking the Roth vehicle.

Damage was moderate.

Robin L. Wiessinger, 37, of Bellefontaine, lost control of her car while westbound on Sandusky  approaching Hayes around 4:20 p.m. Friday. Her car was hit in the side by a westbound car operated by Benjamin C. Swaney, 42, of Bellefontaine. Damage was light.

Michael Beair, 55, of DeGraff, was westbound around 4:30 p.m. Friday and tried to slow for a crash at Sandusky and Hayes. His sport utility vehicle slid on the snowy pavement and hit a stop sign at Fulton Street. The crash disabled the SUV from operating.

• Tonya Gunnett, 33, of Bellefontaine, was cited Friday for failure to yield from a drive after a two-vehicle around 5:15 p.m. Friday.

She reportedly pulled from Superior Auto, 1433 S. Main St., northbound onto Main. Her car was hit by a northbound van operated by Courtney R. Smith, 21, of West Liberty. Damage was light.

• Holly R. Tussing, 45, of North Lewisburg, was cited for running a red light after a two-vehicle crash around 12:30 a.m. Saturday at Main Street and Chillicothe Avenue. Her northbound car hit the side of an eastbound car operated by Dawn L. Tirey, 39, of Russells Point. Damage was moderate.
