DeGraff Hometown Holiday slated for Dec. 5

The annual DeGraff Hometown Holiday is slated for the evening of Dec. 5, which will include a parade and Santa visits.

Parade line-up begins at 5:30 p.m. at Jackson’s Livestock, and the parade begins at 6 p.m. Organizations, clubs and youth groups are encouraged to participate with various entries, which can include golf carts, floats, trucks, tractors, wagons or bicycles. A $25 prize will be awarded to the best decorated entry.

Following the parade, Santa will be available for visits with children until 8 p.m. at the DeGraff firehouse. Parents are encouraged to take their own cameras for photo opportunities. Cookies will be sold at that location.

Free horse-drawn wagons rides will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m., and Vic’s Country Cookin’ will serve food from 5 to 8 p.m.

DeGraff area residents and businesses are encouraged to place luminaries along street side curbs for the event.

The Lions Club made a donation to be used for the children’s Christmas candy in memory of Clarence Riggen.
