A recount of ballots cast from Jefferson Township will be required to determine which candidate is elected to assume a second vacant township trustee position.
Logan County Board of Elections met Wednesday morning and certified the ballots from the Nov. 5 election, and determined the gap between Anthony Bernard and Gary Lockwood is within a half-percent, the minimum threshold for a recount.
Scott Armentrout was easily re-elected as a trustee. Currently, three votes separate Anthony Bernard (259) and Gary Lockwood (256.)
Unofficial results from election night had Mr. Bernard edging Mr. Lockwood, 258-254.
The recount is set for 8 a.m., Nov. 26.
