VILLAGE COUNCILS: ‘Severe slope’ cited for Huntsville precinct move

Lakeview residents can deposit leaves next month

Mayor William Jenkins read a letter from the Logan County Board of Elections during a regular council meeting Tuesday, citing the “severe slope” of the handicap parking at the municipal building as the reason for moving the village’s voting location.

Huntsville officials were informed a couple of months ago that the village and McArthur Township precincts would be moved from the city building to the township hall, but only cited Americans with Disabilities Act non-compliance as the reason for the switch.

Village officials wanted a more definitive answer.
