Agents with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification’s Crimes Against Children served a search warrant at a Bellefontaine residence a week ago, collecting media devices as part of an ongoing investigation.

Detectives with the Bellefontaine Police Department assisted with the search of 746 Eastern Ave.

Jill Del Greco, a spokeswoman for Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s office, said there have been no arrests. She said the agency is not releasing any further information on the current investigation.

Mr. DeWine established the special unit in 2012 to focus exclusively on incidents where children are victimized, she said. It can involve possession, production and dissemination of child pornography.

Ms. Del Greco said the items seized in the search will be processed by BCI technicians.

If they uncover evidence supporting criminal charges, the case will be referred to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for charges.
