Larry L. Yoakam Sr., 31, of 1074 Heritage Court, was charged Monday with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for driving under suspension, failure to control, failure to display license plates and leaving the scene of a crash.
He was eastbound around 10:30 p.m. on Colton Avenue when his car struck a parked car registered to Ashley Post, 432 Colton Ave.
He drove on and officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department found it parked in front of his apartment.
In the meantime, he allegedly called dispatchers and reported the vehicle was stolen.
Officers report he was unsteady on his feet when he approached them outside his residence. He admitted to drinking a bottle of vodka and that he was drunk.
Results from a breathalyzer test indicate he had a blood alcohol content level of 0.24 percent, three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Damage was heavy to the vehicles.
Whiting in jail for CPO violation
Richard D. Whiting, 45, most recently of 6761 Lima St., Huntsville, was charged Monday with violating a civil protection order.
He was found around 10:15 a.m. in Patty Leis’ 121 N. St. Paris St. residence.
She told officers she allowed him to stay after he was evicted despite the CPO and her fears he would hurt her.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
