Five members of the senior class attended Tuesday’s regular West Liberty-Salem school board meeting to highlight the district's student iPad initiative.
The students demonstrated the devices for school board members and discussed how the iPads function as instructional tools in a classroom setting.
Homework assignments, and even textbooks, can be loaded onto the iPads, the students said. Tests and quizzes may be taken on the device and the iPads make out-of-classroom communication about assignments and homework much easier between students and teachers.
Furthermore, there is an added value on iPad instruction being placed at the collegiate level and students with experience learning and doing assignments on those devices now, will be better equipped in college, the students said.
