Even with the business’ front door and its frame removed, Robert Hickman and Greg Volp had just an 1/8 inch on either side to squeeze a 5,000-pound safe out of Stephen’s Fine Jewelry former location at 111 W. Columbus Ave.

Monday, the Wagner Crane, Rigging & Machinery Transport employees placed the safe on heavy-duty dollies and eased it out the door for a short trip to the rear of Stephen’s new home at 140 W. Columbus.
There, the move got complicated as they had to back down a gravel drive with Mr. Volp in a 22,000-pound forklift behind Mr. Hickman operating a 9,000-pound forklift carrying the safe.
