County Opiate Task Force program to increase parental understanding of drug, alcohol issues
The Logan County Opiate Task Force has received a Healthy Living Grant from the AMA Foundation to fund the launch of the PERK, or Positive Engagement Reaches Kids, Program for Logan County families.
This program begins with a half-day kick-off event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Union Station. The fun and educational day will address the impact of medicine abuse on families, stimulate an informal discussion, and educate adolescents about substance abuse through an engaging presentation meant to challenge their behavior toward drugs and alcohol.
“We are excited to have been awarded the Healthy Living Grant,” Tammy Nicholl, Opiate Task Force co-chair, said in a release. “This grant allows us to continue to bring awareness and an educational opportunity to Logan County youths and their families.”
