UPDATE: Wires down after pickup strikes utility pole

US-68-crash

Macochee EMS and other emergency responders were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 5200 block of south U.S. Route 68 just south of County Road 30. David Oglesbee, 45, of Alger, reportedly was operating a southbound pickup hauling a flatbed trailer that drove off the right side of the road, broke off a utility pole and took down power lines. The driver then overcorrected and skidded, and the vehicle blew a tire and then came to rest in the northbound lane. The vehicle sustained damage from the jackknifed trailer. The driver did not report any injuries. Because of the downed power lines, traffic had to be detoured for nearly two hours. Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are handling the crash. Also responding to the scene were Dayton Power and Light crews and the West Liberty Fire Department.
