Wider aisles, higher ceilings and improved natural lighting will greet ALDI customers Tuesday when the national chain opens its new 16,400-square-foot store at 2175 S. Main St.

Of that space, about 10,000 square feet will be used for the retail portion of the operation, said Dan Gavin, vice president of ALDI’s Springfield division.
“ALDI presents a simple, easy-to-navigate shopping experience for our customers,” Mr. Gavin said. “At ALDI, we believe that great quality shouldn’t come at a high price. Rather, great quality should come with everyday low prices.”
