A total of 20 years of working with the disabled community has earned Rose Canter of Ross Training Center recognition as the local Modern Woodmen’s first Hometown Hero.
The local chapter recognizes the honoree with a dinner gathering, a certificate and a $100 donation to the charity of her choice, Special Olympics, during a gathering from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Fazoli’s Restaurant.
The Hometown Heroes Program gives members of Modern Woodmen — a fraternal financial services organization — a chance to recognize others in the community who strive to do the same thing through volunteerism or an act of bravery.
“I am honored to have been chosen to be recognized as the first Modern Woodmen Hometown Hero,” Ms. Canter said.
