Former Middleburg school comes down

For the first time in almost 200 years, Middleburg is without a school building, but residents are not all that concerned by that detail.
Instead, the people who turned out to watch LeVan’s Excavating begin razing the former school Tuesday were delighted to finally see a building that has become a blight on the community being removed.
“I’m glad to see it come down; it’s been 15 years I’ve been working on this,” said Terry Riley, who attended school there as a youth in the 1940s.
