WLPD cites driver for striking USPS vehicle

No one was injured Tuesday when a pickup truck struck a United States Postal Service vehicle at the intersection of Detroit and Baird streets in West Liberty.

Officers of the West Liberty Police Department report Timothy Yoder, 54, of Bellefontaine, was northbound on Detroit Street about 12:30 p.m. when he failed to stop at the traffic light and struck a mail carrier vehicle traveling westbound on Baird Street driven by Sarah Varner, 37, of West Liberty.

Neither driver was hurt. Damage was non-functional to both vehicles.

Mr. Yoder was cited for failure to stop at the red light.

Adriel teen lodged in JDC

An Adriel student was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Monday after he ran away from the group home.

Atchistian Brown, 15, was located shortly after he ran off. Officers charged him with inducing panic and lodged the teen in Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
