The Community Blood Center conducts a public blood drive from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Everyone who registers to donate will receive the limited edition “9/11 We Remember” T-shirt.
In the days following Sept. 11, 2001, long lines of donors stretched around local Community Blood Center facilities, a scene repeated at blood centers across the country. For a nation in shock, donating blood was a way to take action and respond with compassion to a national tragedy.
Make an appointment online at www.donortime.com, or call Kathy Pleiman at 295-3100 or (800) 388-4483. Walk-ins are welcome as schedules permit.
A picture ID with full name, such as a driver’s license, is necessary to donate. Take the CBC ID card if you have one. Donors
should be in good health and eat their normal diet.
