COLUMBUS — Congressman Jim Jordan, R-Urbana, was recognized recently for his leadership on behalf of rural seniors.
The congressman was awarded the Summer 2013 Champion of Seniors Award by the Grange, a national, non-partisan grassroots organization that advocates on behalf of seniors.
Rep. Jordan received the award for his efforts to protect the health benefits and security of Ohio’s seniors and citizens with disabilities.
He was presented the award during a meeting at his Columbus congressional office, along with other local organizations and their representatives.
The Grange cited Rep. Jordan’s opposition to Medicare cuts as one of the reasons for his recognition.
