The Mary Rutan Foundation recently awarded $49,700 in scholarships and loans to 38 area students this academic school year pursuing degrees in the medical field. This amount brings the overall total to nearly $1.2 million awarded to Logan County residents since 1992.
“Mary Rutan Foundation is committed to the health and wellness of this community. In addition to the numerous community health and wellness programs and services funded by the foundation annually, we believe it is important to maintain our medical scholarship program,” said Tammy Allison, foundation chief operating officer, in a release.
“We understand the importance of investing in the future of those individuals pursuing careers in the medical profession. We look at it as an investment in the future of health care at Mary Rutan Hospital and the communities we serve.”
