With bus routes set and summer repair projects completed, Benjamin Logan Schools are ready for grades 1-12 students’ return to the classroom Wednesday, administrators reported during the regular board meeting Monday.
Kindergarten orientation is Wednesday and Thursday. The first day of school for kindergarten boys is Friday and the first day of school for kindergarten girls is Monday.
In reports to the board, Building and Grounds Supervisor Dan Defibaugh and Transportation Supervisor Richard Sidders gave an overview of efforts to prepare for the new school year.
Mr. Sidders said the fleet was inspected by state officials and is ready for 29 routes to transport some 1,700 students and Mr. Defibaugh reported the completion of a project to replace carpeting in the hallways at the elementary and middle schools. Work continues to bring the campus online for natural gas and eliminate propane tanks.
