Adam J. Rivera, 29, of New Carlisle, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs after a single-vehicle crash around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday in private lot at 503 E. High Ave.
He ignored a sign prohibiting through traffic and his car hit a light pole in the lot.
Officers report he was talking slowly and slurring his speech. Field sobriety tests also indicated the motorist was intoxicated. When tested, he recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.287 percent.
He was cited for failure to control and obedience to a traffic control device.
