A new middle school administrator and elementary school teacher were hired today during a special meeting of the Indian Lake school board.
A contract for Gene Gooding, middle school co-principal was approved, effective Aug. 1. The 214-day contract runs through July 31, 2015. Mr. Gooding will be paid $75,000.
He replaces Misha Monnin, whose resignation was accepted at the board’s regular meeting earlier this month.
Mr. Gooding has been a principal for nine years, most recently at Covington Exempted Village Schools, he said after the meeting. Previously, Mr. Gooding worked in Sidney City Schools where he and current Indian Lake Superintendent Pat O’Donnell were both administrators.
The new Indian Lake administrator spoke highly of Mr. O’Donnell and of the opportunity to work at Indian Lake.
A one-year limited contract was accepted for Sarah Beres, elementary school teacher. At its most recent meeting, the board approved a resignation of Joanne Brademeyer, elementary school teacher.
In other action, the board approved:
• supplemental contracts for: Brad Yinger, assistant boys soccer; Andrea Jacobs, varsity football and basketball cheerleading; and Chris Lowe, assistant volleyball;
• Race to the Top professional development stipend of $100 for one day of senior prep class training for Doug Reprogle, Andrea Schlaegel and Brian Sutton; and
• the calamity day alternative make-up plan as mandated by the Ohio Revised Code.
