2 transported after crash

Zachary D. Maier, 19, of Huntsville, and Suzi Stephenson, 67, of Belle Center, each was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for minor injuries sustained in a crash Thursday afternoon on County Road 130 at County Road 37. Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Mr. Maier was operating a northbound pickup about 1:45 p.m. when his vehicle struck the rear of a northbound car operated by Ms. Stephenson that had slowed in traffic. Her car then was pushed into the rear of a Logan County Electric Cooperative bucket truck operated by Todd White, 51, of Bellefontaine. He did not report any injuries. Mr. Maier was transported to the hospital by private vehicle, while Ms. Stephenson was transported by Huntsville squad. Both were reportedly treated and released. Damage was heavy to the first two vehicles, and light to the bucket truck. Mr. Maier was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. (EXAMINER PHOTO | JOEL E. MAST)

SR-638 274

Crash sends 3 to hospital

Two drivers and a passenger were transported to area hospitals following a two-vehicle crash about 3 p.m. Thursday at state routes 638 and 274. Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report Timothy Weeks, 38, of Miamisburg, was operating a westbound sport utility vehicle that drove from a stop sign and struck a northbound pickup operated by Ralph Hall, 54, of Belle Center. Mr. Weeks was transported by Huntsville squad to Lima Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hall and his passenger, Harley M. Stump Jr., 63, of Belle Center, each was transported by squad to Mary Rutan Hospital.
