Dennis R. Thornberry, 48, of 11314 Powhattan Path, Lakeview, was charged with felony domestic violence and possession of marijuana after an incident Sunday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to his address about 9:15 p.m. in reference to a fight. The caller advised that someone was beating a truck with a hammer, and then reported that everything was OK.
While en route to the scene, dispatchers were notified by the caller that EMS services were also needed.
When deputies arrived, they found Mr. Thornberry’s two sons holding him down on the ground. The sons said their father was intoxicated and out-of-control.
Deputies said the defendant was “growling” at the time and was trying to get up off of the ground.
The two sons said Mr. Thornberry had pushed them and their mother, and that he also urinated in their yard in public view.
The defendant was placed under arrest, and deputies located marijuana roaches in his pocket. He was transported to the Logan County Jail, and was issued the felony charge because of a prior domestic violence arrest.
