Woman lodged for attack

Mindy Wappelhorst, 31, of 508 N. Elm St., was arrested Tuesday for assault and criminal trespass.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report the defendant allegedly entered Della Hoskin’s 1154 S. Main St. residence around 10 p.m. without permission and attacked Sheresicia Powell.

Ms. Powell said she defended herself, and during the fight, the suspect bit her, leaving an open wound on her left index finger.

The defendant was located at her residence. Officers observed facial injuries.

They arrested her despite her claims that she was attacked and her former boyfriend, Thomas Hoskins, helped by holding her down on the floor.

She was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

Two men land in jail

Paul Hedrick, 43, of 1600 S. Detroit St., Apt. 39, was charged Tuesday with persistent disorderly conduct.

Officers were called to the residence around 11:50 p.m. regarding a dispute between the defendant and his roommate, Dana Curry.

The defendant wanted Mr. Curry removed, but officers saw no reason to arrest him.

When he continued to complain and dialed 911 on his phone despite a warning not to, officers arrested him and lodged him in jail.

• Shane E. Siebeneck, 35, of 715 W. Chillicothe Ave., was charged today with public intoxication.

An officer on foot patrol around the Bellefontaine Municipal Court, 226 W. Columbus Ave., found him lying face down in the 100 block of north Elm Street around 3:20 a.m.

He was lodged in jail.
