SPRINGFIELD — The Cargill Nourishing People Campaign recently awarded $40,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank of Clark, Champaign and Logan Counties, a program of Catholic Charities SouthWestern Ohio.
The funds will be used to construct a new walk-in cooler needed to store food donations distributed to 75 member agencies as they address hunger in the tri-county area.
“At Cargill, we’re trying to help ensure everyone has enough to eat by partnering with organizations to help find long-term solutions,” Katie McMillan, Nourishing People Campaign lead in Sidney, said in a release.
“We’re proud to support Second Harvest of Clark, Champaign and Logan Counties as they are truly invested in the betterment of health and nourishment in their communities.”
