Ms. Vogel recently won the 2013 Division III indoor track and field state championship in the 1600-meter race.

She has also won the championship title for the 1600-meter race in outdoor track before, but she is best remembered for helping a competitor cross the finish line at the 2012 state track meet after that competitor had fallen during the race.

“I’m proud of all that Meghan has done,” Rep. Adams said in a release. “She has accomplished a great deal in long-distance running, and she has done so while showing the highest level of sportsmanship. I’m pleased that the Ohio House of Representatives could honor her today, and we wish her luck in her college career at Penn State.”
