Riverside board adds two teachers, coaches

The Riverside Board of Education approved two new teachers who will also coach basketball during a special meeting Monday evening.

Daniel Hickman was hired as a teacher and head boys basketball coach. He replaces Don Epps, who stepped down recently after two years at the helm.

Hickman is a 2009 Miami East High School graduate and a 2013 Cedarville University graduate. He was the state's co-player of the year as a senior at Miami East and he went on to play four seasons at Cedarville.

Taking over the girls program will be Corey Britton. A graduate of Hopewell Louden High School and the University of Findlay, Britton spent the last two years as head boys basketball coach at Reedsville Eastern High School.

Britton takes over for Jeremy Allen, who resigned following the 2012-13 season.

In other action, the board accepted the resignation of Tim Shook and approved the contract payoff to Shook in the amount of $13,229.34 for days worked through March 22, 2013, and supplemental contract duties.
