The Logan County Board of Elections conducted its final recount Thursday for the May 7 Primary/Special Election and confirmed the final numbers for all issues and candidates, with no changes to previously announced decisions.
The Benjamin Logan 10-year, 4.6-mill additional tax levy was up by three votes according to unofficial results after the May 7 election, but after provisional ballots were counted the measure tied at 710-710, which meant the levy failed. Those numbers were confirmed by the mandatory recount Thursday.
Similarly, Quincy’s 2-mill, five-year additional levy for street repairs ended in a tie on election day and two provisional votes yielded no change from that anticipated result. The measure was officially turned down 52-52.
Additionally, the city council race between incumbent Diane Hager and Marcus St. Clair also was confirmed with the incumbent retaining the seat 123-122. Mr. St. Clair picked up three provisional votes over his election night total of 119.
The next meeting is at 8:30 a.m. June 19.
